Sergio Hudson is trading red carpets for playgrounds. The Los Angeles designer, known for dressing Beyoncé and Michelle Obama, is launching his first-ever children’s collection with OshKosh B’gosh marking the brand’s first designer exclusive collaboration.
The collection drops October 22, available only at OshKosh B’gosh stores and oshkosh.com. It spans sizes 12 months to 14 years, with 13 styles per age group, priced $22 to $45.
For Hudson, it’s personal. He once bought OshKosh for his godson, nieces, and own children. Now he’s designing it. “I love kids. I’ve always wanted a foothold in that space,” he told WWD.
The partnership came through Harlem’s Fashion Row, whose founder Brandice Daniel connected Hudson with Carter’s, OshKosh’s parent company. Hudson insisted on building something real not just another department store spin-off.
He dug into OshKosh’s archives, pulling denim and hickory stripe and reworking them through his signature tailoring. Cargo pockets add function, while adjustable inner waistbands echo his cinched silhouettes and adapt to growing bodies. Some pieces feature belts and tone-on-tone layering.
“I didn’t want to make something where you look at it and know, ‘Oh, that’s from 2022,'” Hudson said. “I don’t like trends.”
The launch delivers several firsts: Hudson’s first children’s-exclusive line, OshKosh’s first designer exclusive, and the brand’s first gender-neutral designs many pieces work for any child, simplifying hand-me-downs.
